The Falmouth 24hr Comic

10.30 am Tuesday 24th of November - 10.30am Wednesday 25th of November

The Poly, Falmouth

On the 24th of November a group of artists, illustrators and photographers will be challenging their creativity and stamina. With no preparation and very little sleep, they will have just 24 hours to complete 24 pages of illustrated narrative inspired by a local story

The event is open to the public to see the artists working and view the pages as they are completed. There is even opportunity to challenge yourself to create a timed comic.

The Falmouth 24hr Comic is funded by FEAST, a new programme to make great art happen in Cornish villages and towns. Their main focus is to bring communites together to take part in creative activities.

The results will be displayed at The Poly until Saturday the 28th on November.

There will be a follow up exhibition at The Soup Galley, Truro in December.

Robert Fresson

Flag enthusiast and illustrator Robert G. Fresson has spent the last year and a half honing the usage of technical drawing tools and materials. He has his own drawing board and some French curves. He also has an inclination towards off-white papers and CMYK colour separation. Humour is an important aspect to his work, and he has been quoted as saying (probably to himself): “while it is difficult for me to be seriously funny, I find I have an aptitude for being funnily serious”. A shameful technophobe (perhaps a rarity among the youth) he still manages to stare at dancing pixels from time to time, sometimes managing to make them dance himself, through the use of Microsoft PowerPoint and other such software. He is a huge fan of his Grandmother’s andHe is interested in taking his time where possible. His lifelong dream is to own a cabin in Novascotia.

Robert will be participating in The Falmouth 24hr Comic Challenge at The Poly
